CMU - Forbes & Beeler Residence Hall
Educational
Four-story, 113,000 SF residence hall and public market supporting Carnegie Mellon University's focus on creating housing communities
Formerly the now-demolished Doherty Apartments site, the new four-story residence hall will provide approximately 266 beds in 37 apartments, private study rooms, music rooms, game rooms, and media rooms. Located on the first floor will be a public market. Mosites has worked closely with Carnegie Mellon University and Goody Clancy to provide a construction approach geared toward safety on an active campus while engaging and supporting the surrounding community.
Over 1,000 items, such as kitchen cabinets and appliances, were donated to nonprofits as a result of the demolition of the apartments in the summer of 2020. Forbes & Beeler is targeting LEED Gold.
