5-Story 1,000 Space Parking Garage Features New Road, Intersection, Pedestrian Walks, and Retaining Wall

UPMC wanted to build a five-story/1,000 space precast parking garage open to employees, visitors, and patients.The project includes a new precast parking garage surrounded by a 700 LF mechanically stabilized Earthen retaining wall averaging 50’ in height, a three lane road built from the garage to Baum Blvd, a new intersection including turn lanes and pedestrian walks to handle additional traffic entering and exiting the new structure.  All work was performed immediately adjacent to Norfolk Southern Rail right-of-way.
