The project supports the development of the Robotics Innovation Center and includes approximately 130,778 SF of site infrastructure improvements across three acres along the Monongahela River on the site of a former steel mill. The work prepared the site for construction of the new research facility and included significant early enabling work to establish access, utilities, and supporting infrastructure. The scope included a mass cut of the existing grade, demolition of existing utilities, and installation of new underground wet and dry utilities including storm, sanitary, water, telecommunications, and electrical ductbanks. Site improvements also included the construction of approximately 1,000 LF of new asphalt roadways, curbs, sidewalks, street lighting, landscaping, and hardscape features surrounding the building pad. Located within the Hazelwood Green redevelopment district, the project required coordination within a former industrial brownfield environment while establishing critical infrastructure to support the RIC and future development.
