Eastside Campus

Eastside Campus

Pittsburgh, PA

As Chatham’s health and science enrollments continued to attract more students, Chatham University came up with a plan to purchase the former East Liberty Eichleay Building at the corner of Penn Avenue and Washington Boulevard.  Shortly thereafter, Chatham called on Mosites Construction Company to guarantee budget, schedule and to develop a plan whereby Chatham University could occupy a portion of the building by August 2009.

Chatham Eastside is the University’s newest academic facility. This LEED Silver renovation project is the first phase of Chatham’s plans to expand their campus to Eastside and the Penn Avenue corridor.  The work involved the conversion of an office building to an educational facility.  Specific efforts were made to use sustainable construction practices.  While constructing this new space, recycled materials and energy efficient lighting were used to create an academic facility within a green environment.
